Style Tips And Rules

As much as I hate conforming to socially acceptable standards there are style tips and rules every woman must live by. This is the year to Seize the bae remember! Every woman is meant to appear effortlessly styled wherever she goes. Every woman is a fashion girl at heart. A fashion girl is the type who just gets outfit proportions, layering tricks, and how to pull off the trend of the moment.

A fashion girl makes the most difficult trend easy to wear.

I watch and read about styling habits of stars and Instagram models! This article contains the tips and tricks you need to know.

Embrace your shape

You need to know which silhouettes flatter you.  Nothing screams fashion girl than a woman who knows her silhouette, and how to dress her shape.

Go for Push Up’s

The right bra will give you confidence and shape. Go for push up’s not bra’s that make your breast stop at your waist.

Show a little skin

Sexy isn’t always naked. The truly sexy ladies know what to bare-and what to keep under wraps. Don’t put all your goods on display, you aren’t a super market. Show skin strategically.

Layer your necklaces

Just as beads comes in different layers. Your everyday neck pieces should also be layered. You can do multiples of the same material, or better yet, go for contrast.

Mix your prints

African print or Ankara has this on lockdown! The recent trend of mixing prints just makes African print a must have for everyone. Combining colors, scale, and patterns in a way that looks dynamic takes practice, but there are some basic tricks to getting it right. You can wear two prints that repeat the same colors or mix a large-scale pattern with a smaller one.

Roll up your sleeves

I hate long sleeves, so I couldn’t agree more with this trend. Rolling up your sleeves makes a big difference. It depends on the shirt and the look you’re going for, but rolled sleeves feel more lived-in and a little more purposefully styled.

Basics.

T-shirts, skinny black pants, and a classic pump are all among stylish women’s must haves.

Layers.

Start experimenting with your layers; you never know what combinations you’ll love. Boys are usually the ones to do this, but I know girls can rock this look better.

Menswear

Pantsuit, waistcoats, or a big watch used to scream menswear but now women rock it so well especially when paired with heels and a fab lipstick!

Pair loose with tight

Except it’s a body con dress don’t go for a tight outfit. Mix loose with tight. A loose blouse with leggings or jeggings is always a hit. Back to back!

P.s You can wear a big blazer on a body con dress just to even it out.

Belt

For waist definition or an added outfit perk use a belt. A skinny one lends polish to finish an ensemble, while a wider leather belt can define curves and slim the body.

Line the Inside

Seamstresses understand the important of lining-no wonder they charge so much! A garment’s lining is often a good way to judge quality. A well-crafted lining is a sign that the whole piece has been sewn with care.

Buttons

Nobody does buttons like D’banj (arguable)

Drape your jacket

Outerwear becomes infinitely more chic when it’s draped nonchalantly over the shoulders, rather than worn with the arms through the sleeves. It’s fashion, not function.

Accessorize

Accessorize with bold colours. Go for brightly coloured accessories to spice up your look.
